Consultation Hours

Consultation hours are the operating hours during which end customers can start a consultation in KakaoTalk. Because the value belongs to a channel, you adjust it per channel in Brand settings → Channel. There are no consultation hours on the account settings screen.

Editor

ItemBehavior
24-hour toggleWhen on, the channel is open 24/7 with no weekday or time input
Per-weekday rangesEnter a start and end time for each day, Monday through Sunday
Omitted weekdaysA day with no time entered is a day off
One range per dayOnly one start–end range per weekday is supported (you can't split it for a mid-day break such as lunch)

A range that crosses midnight (for example, 22:00–02:00) can be saved, but whether late-night consultations actually connect is unverified. If you need overnight operation, check with Support first.

Leave it empty for 24/7

If you enable consultations without setting consultation hours, they are automatically set to 24/7. Edit them only when you want to narrow the operating hours.

Time zone — enter in the display time zone, stored in KST

Times in the editor are entered in the display time zone from your account settings. Kakao SangdamTalk (Kakao's customer-consultation chat) doesn't receive time zone information and works only on the Korean wall clock, so when you save, the values are converted automatically to Korea Standard Time (KST) and sent.

  • If you change the display time zone, the times shown in the editor change to that time zone. The stored KST values stay the same.
  • The day boundary for billing (KST midnight) is independent of the display time zone → Billing

Change the display time zone in Account settings.

Until it appears in KakaoTalk

When you save, the change is sent to Kakao immediately, but it can take some time on Kakao's side before the updated operating hours appear on the end customer's KakaoTalk screen. If the customer's screen looks unchanged right after saving, check again a little later.

Setting it from the CLI or API

You can work with the same values from a terminal or automation.
