Preparing your Kakao channel — TalkBridge connection prerequisites
TalkBridge connects the consultations that come into your KakaoTalk channel. That is why the Kakao side has to be ready before you connect. This page explains "what to prepare, and where" based on Kakao's official guides — creating a channel and passing the review are procedures run by Kakao, so always follow Kakao's official documentation for detailed criteria and the latest changes.
Prerequisite checklist at a glance
- ✅ You have a KakaoTalk channel — if not, create one for free at Kakao Business
- ✅ Business channel conversion (business verification) completed — a prerequisite for using SangdamTalk
- ✅ Channel visibility ON + search allowed ON — if these are off, customers cannot find your channel
- ✅ Channel name · search ID · channel URL confirmed — the three values you enter in TalkBridge Center
1. What is a KakaoTalk channel?
A KakaoTalk channel is the official business home where companies and brands communicate with customers inside KakaoTalk. Customers can add the channel and start a 1:1 chat (consultation), and TalkBridge connects those consultations to your Discord, Slack, your own system, or your AI agent.
- Create and manage: Kakao Channel Admin Center — https://center-pf.kakao.com
- Overview and getting started: Kakao Business — https://business.kakao.com
- Official setup guide: Kakao Business Guide (Creating a channel) — https://kakaobusiness.gitbook.io/main/channel/start
2. Creating a channel (if you do not have one yet)
- Sign in to the Kakao Channel Admin Center with your Kakao account
- Create a new channel — enter the channel name, search ID, introduction text, and so on
- After creating it, set channel visibility ON and search allowed ON in the dashboard
For detailed step-by-step screens, see Kakao Business — Creating an official channel.
3. Business channel conversion (business verification) — getting reviewed
To use business tools including Kakao SangdamTalk (Kakao's customer-consultation chat), you must convert a regular channel to a business channel (business verification). Kakao conducts the review.
- Where to apply: Channel Admin Center → [Manage] → [Apply for Business Channel]
- Required documents (representative examples) — they vary depending on the relationship between the applicant and the business:
- Sole proprietor (owner): KakaoTalk in your own name (electronic certificate)
- Corporate representative: business registration certificate + representative's mobile phone identity verification
- Employee: business registration certificate + KakaoTalk in your own name (electronic certificate)
- Agency: business registration certificates of both the advertiser and the agency + power of attorney (or service agreement)
- Review period: typically 1–3 business days — the result is delivered via notification / KakaoTalk message
- Industry-specific license documents may additionally be required (per Kakao's review criteria)
Review criteria, rejection reasons, and the like are Kakao's domain. For review-related questions, use the Kakao Customer Center (https://cs.kakao.com) or the inquiry channels inside the Admin Center — this is not something TalkBridge can handle on your behalf.
4. Where do I find the search ID?
The search ID is the unique ID used to find your channel in KakaoTalk search, and it is a value you set yourself when creating the channel.
- Where to find it: Channel Admin Center dashboard → Channel info (it is different from the channel home URL
pf.kakao.com/_xxxxxx) - You enter this value on the channel registration screen in TalkBridge Center (for example, written in the form
@woorigage)
5. Once you are ready — connect TalkBridge
When the checklist above is complete, follow Getting Started to enter your channel information and get your Agent Key issued. Simple Mode (installing the Discord/Slack bot) connects in about 3 minutes.
